Interactive Author Masterclass:"How to Write a World-Class Paper"
Writing scientific papers is an integral and important aspect of doing scientific research. A well-written manuscript submitted to an appropriate journal is most likely to be accepted for publication in the least cumbersome way. This raises the question: "What is a well-written manuscript, and what is an appropriate journal?"
The purpose of the masterclass is to discuss what a well-written manuscript is, what the do's and don'ts of manuscript writing are (including publication ethics), how editors come to their decisions, and what happens behind the scenes from manuscript submission to publication. This is an opportunity of direct interaction between authors, editors and publishers.
The masterclass is meant for young researchers and PhD students, typically with a publication history 2-10 articles.
The workshop will be presented by Professor Peter Houghton, King's College London (United Kingdom) and Editor of the Journal of Ethnopharmacology, and Jaap van Harten, PhD, Publisher Pharmacology & Pharmaceutical Sciences at Elsevier, Amsterdam (The Netherlands).
The workshop will be in English, and participation is free.
As the number of participants is limited, advance registration is required, by sending an email to Eventus (plantasmedicinais@eventus.com.br) with a list of publications. Registration will be closed at August 31.
